CAD Trust is pleased to announce that the Data Model Version 2.0 API (API v2.0) development is complete.
All documentation is now available for public access and testing. The updated API will be used by connected registries to share their data, as well as for any organisations interested in downloading the full harmonised dataset.
CAD Trust Data Model Version 2.0, launched last October, is an enhanced baseline for harmonising carbon registry data on the CAD Trust repository while improving infrastructure performance. It will also help us support data standardisation and registry interoperability efforts and public good use cases. Read more about Version 2.0 here.
Over the last quarter of 2025, CAD Trust has been focused on building API architecture for Version 2.0 and conducting internal testing. The roll-out with all 12 connected registries is underway, with a full transition to Version 2.0 expected to be completed by Q2 2026. New registries are also expected and welcome to connect directly to Version 2.0.
All interested carbon credit registries are now invited to test the API v2.0, with workshops scheduled over the coming weeks to support the transition. In addition, organisations interested in accessing harmonised carbon credit data in bulk or those building carbon market infrastructure are invited to test the API and reach out to the CAD Trust Secretariat for support.
