Rainbow (formerly Riverse) connects to the Climate Action Data Trust

  • New connection of an ICROA-certified program focused on technology-based circular economy projects in Europe
  • Full dataset of projects and units already available on the CAD Trust database and Data Dashboard

SINGAPORE, 21 July 2025 — The Climate Action Data Trust (CAD Trust) is excited to announce the integration of the Rainbow (formerly Riverse) registry.

Rainbow is an ICROA-endorsed carbon credit standard issuing science-backed carbon credits that align with business strategies and climate commitments. Operating since 2021, Rainbow has certified more than 60 projects and issued over 280,000 credits, with a forecasted registry portfolio of 3 million tCO₂ until 2030.

The users of the CAD Trust Data Dashboard and API can already access data on all projects issued in the Rainbow registry.

Rainbow is the 11th registry to share their data with CAD Trust, contributing to the estimated coverage of around 90% of all global credit issuances to date.

Federico Di Credico, Interim CEO, CAD Trust, said: “We welcome Rainbow to a network of independent, national and international crediting programs working together to improve access to trusted, traceable, and harmonized data on carbon credits globally. We are proud to work with all programs that share our mission of building transparent, high-integrity carbon markets that drive climate action.”

Ludovic Chatoux, CEO, Rainbow, shared: “We’re delighted to be connected to CAD Trust and contribute to this critical infrastructure for the carbon markets. Transparency, trust, and interoperability are essential to scale climate impact, and CAD Trust’s open-source, decentralized platform plays a key role in delivering on that promise. At Rainbow, we’re proud to help shape a carbon market that is robust, science-driven, and aligned with the ambition of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.”

Rainbow have connected to CAD Trust using the v1.8 version of the data model but will be migrating to v2.0 over the coming months.
