The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the largest global United Nations event for international negotiations and discussions on climate change implementation. In 2025, Brazil has the honour of hosting the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30),  in Belém, Pará, a city in the heart of the Amazon.

ARTICLE 6 AND THE PATH AHEAD

The COP30 Action Agenda is clear: harmonization of carbon markets is a key objective for accelerating climate action. As the dust settles on the negotiated outcomes, attention turns to operationalising Article 6 and the systems coordination needed to make high-integrity, Paris Agreement-aligned carbon markets work.  Compatible data systems, trusted infrastructure, and public access to information are all critical enablers for this international cooperation.

In Belém, CAD Trust will share how our work building common data practices and connecting diverse registries provides a trusted public overview of global carbon market activity, helps prevent double-counting, and supports global coordination. Ieva Steponaviciute, Director of Strategy & Outreach, will participate in critical conversations on digital infrastructure, trusted carbon data, and Article 6 implementation.
