A decentralised meta data platform that links, aggregates and harmonises all major carbon credit registry data to enhance transparent accounting in line with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

The CAD Trust open-source metadata system uses blockchain technology to create a decentralised record of carbon market activity with the aim to avoid double counting, increase trust in carbon credit data and build confidence in carbon markets through improved transparency.

    Global Announcement

    IETA launches the Climate Action Data website and communication channels and reveals information on the forthcoming launch of the fully operational metadata layer.

    Climate Action Data Trust at COP27

    Series of panel discussions hosted by IETA and the World Bank focused on leveraging digital infrastructure for carbon markets.

    Official Launch

    Official launch of the Climate Action Data Trust at the Asia Climate Summit 2022 in Singapore. Registration will open soon through the IETA website.

    Operational Data Dashboard

    The initial integration and connection with several major registries is now underway. Other national registries and the wider ecosystem of registries will connect to CAD Trust throughout 2023. The fully operational Data Dashboard displaying all major registry data will be fully accessible in Q3 2023.
